Wild fun with Horse Skijoring & Calcutta, Downhill Barstool Races, Papa Muntz-Style Horse & Tube Race, Kids' Sno-tube Races/Activities, Snow Sculpture Contest, Foodies & Open Container all on Main St. in Sundance!
This wild-west winter festival has many “events” within it. The wildest is skijoring! To describe it simply; it’s a rider on a horse running full speed, pulling a skier, through an obstacle course, over the snow - up Main Street. Another entertaining event to watch (or enter!) are the Barstool Races. Imagine your favorite barstool with skis attached and maybe even some sort of “theme”. The course starts at the top of a man-made snow hill with two lanes. Competitors run two at a same time, with the first across the line winning. Looking for a little more "not so crazy" competition? Enter the Snowmobile Poker Run or compete in the Nordic Ski Race. Both take place through the beautiful Bear Lodge Mountains near Sundance.
Additional wild & wacky events include:
- Papa Muntz-Style Horse &Tube Race
- Kids' Sno-tube Races & Activities
- Snow Sculpture Contest
Just strolling around town with your favorite beverage (adult or otherwise), and visiting the many shops as well as dining options is fun. Regardless of if you're watching or participating - stay a night or two. You're sure to have a great time in Sundance over President's Day Weekend!
