Cross country skiing is fun for all ages

Cross Country Skiing

Cross country skiers will enjoy over 70 miles of trail, some groomed by local ski clubs. In the higher northern hills, annual snowfall can reach 180 inches. Three trail systems stand out. Eagle Cliff Trails is a self-guided loop system that were originally developed for cross-country skiing. The Big Hills Trails is 16 mile system of five easy to moderate loops and a spur to the rim of Spearfish Canyon. And it's hard to beat the Bear Mountain Trails, 16.1 miles of breathtaking views and much wildlife.

Some other trails to explore include:
Centennial Trail — 111 miles. A landmark trail that stretches across the north-south length of the Black Hills.
