    Are you interested in becoming a Junior Ranger? During your visit to Mount Rushmore you can become one! The Junior Ranger Programs allow you to see and interact with the park at your own pace and on your own time.

Are you interested in becoming a Junior Ranger? During your visit to Mount Rushmore you can become one! The Junior Ranger Programs allow you to see and interact with the park at your own pace and on your own time. If you enjoy art, science, history and learning about the national parks this is the perfect program for you. Being a part of this program also allows in helping protect these parks, even if you've never visited them all. 

The Junior Ranger Trainee program is for children ages 3-4 and there is no fee. These young visitors learn all about Mount Rushmore and its natural resources through exploration activities. At the end of the training, a Junior Ranger Badge is awarded.

The Junior Ranger Activity Book is for children ages 5-12, also at no fee. Exploration of the memorial through the activities in the book will be a great learning experience and at the end of training, a certificate and badge will be awarded. Once the certificate is obtained, a souvenir patch may also be purchased in the Visitor Center or Information Center bookstore.

The Rushmore Ranger Activity Booklet is fee-free and for ages 13 and up. This booklet will enhance their vision and knowledge on Mount Rushmore and a certificate is awarded upon completion. A souvenir patch is also available for purchase with proof of certificate.
