Black Hills Balloons meets passengers each morning at the Black Hills Balloons Hangar, an updated historic building located on the main street of Custer, SD. Passengers Park their vehicles and travel to the launch field in an insured van. Once at the field, the crew gets to work unloading and preparing the aircraft while passengers are briefed and take photos. The hot air balloon takes 20 minutes to prepare for flight before passengers are requested to board. The flight is approximately one hour, determined by weather and available landing locations. Upon landing, the ground crew packs up the balloon while passengers and pilot celebrate the flight with complimentary champagne, light snacks and a story about the origin of hot air ballooning. Black Hills Balloons fly’s daily at sunrise when the winds are calm and consistent.
