This historic town is seated in the heart of the Black Hills of western South Dakota. Our central location in this beautiful and majestic pine-covered range of rolling mountain terrain is what earned our community its nickname: "The Heart of the Hills

Downtown Hill City includes the 1880 Train, the SD State Railroad Museum & the Dinosaur Museum at the Black Hills Institute. Main Street includes 5 art galleries, unique gift shops, antiques and a variety of wonderful restaurants. From here you're only 15 minutes to Mount Rushmore national Memorial and close to Crazy Horse Memorial as well.
