Tourism professionals from across the region gathered in Rapid City for a productive roundtable discussion with Senator Mike Rounds, hosted by the Tourism Coalition of South Dakota (TCSD). The event was hosted for TCSD members and welcomed tourism-focused businesses not yet affiliated with the organization, offering a valuable opportunity to engage directly with one of South Dakota’s key federal legislators.
Attendees discussed a range of legislative issues impacting the tourism sector, emphasizing the importance of continued support to strengthen and grow the state’s visitor economy. The conversation provided insight into current policy matters while allowing business owners and tourism leaders to share their concerns, needs, and priorities directly with Senator Rounds.

Senator Rounds' office shared in a Facebook post, “Great to be out in Rapid City to meet with West River members and partners of the Tourism Coalition of SD and share legislative updates from the Senate. These folks do an awesome job of advocating for our beautiful state and the millions of tourists we welcome each year.”
The well-attended event underscored the power of collective advocacy and the importance of maintaining strong communication between industry stakeholders and policymakers.
