Annual Mickelson Trail Summer Trek

South Dakota’s George S. Mickelson Trail is more than just a recreation Trail: it is a trail of history. You have the opportunity to travel the same path as General George A. Custer, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Potato Creek Johnny. Burlington Northern built this rail line over 130 years ago to accommodate the miners who had rushed to the area to pan for gold. In 1983, the rail line was removed from service and this incredible trail was envisioned. After years of planning, hard work, and determination the trail became a reality.
 JUN 21 - JUN 23
MICKELSON TRAIL SUMMER TREKbegins in Custer
The Trail Trek is a 3-day, 109-mile supported bicycle ride through the heart of the Black Hills on the George S. Mickelson Trail. This ride is a wonderful way to see the beauty of the Black Hills that can't be seen from the road. The ride will take you through four hard rock tunnels, over more than 100 tressle bridges, through several beautiful areas and will leave you with many wonderful memories.

The cowboys that carry on this tradition are known as the gladiators of the arena, the bull riders of the PBR, and they’re coming to Historic Deadwood South Dakota, June 7 & 8, 2024! These two elements created the PBR. Bull riding is one of the most extreme sports known to man and the best of the best belong to the Professional Bull Riders. In the world of professional sports the PBR brings the top bulls and the top riders to fans all over the country.
