LifeLight Hills Alive Festival

This free summer music festival is held the third weekend in July in Rapid City's Memorial Park. It features many of the best Christian artists over two days. There is a KidsZone with outreach ministry, on-stage shows, bouncy village, and a children's tent.
Several delicious food vendors are on site, as well as merchandise vendors and non-profit booths. Don't miss the Friday night Artist Showcase at Main Street Square in downtown Rapid City. LifeLight Hills Alive brings in 20,000-25,000 people each day.

Days of '76 Rodeo & Parade

Experience the thrill and action of the Days of '76 Rodeo, a celebrated event with a rich heritage. This rodeo is the pride of PRCA, holding numerous titles including PRCA Small Outdoor Rodeo of the Year, PRCA Midsize Rodeo of the Year, and PRCA Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year. Held at the iconic venue where the pioneer spirit thrives, attendees can look forward to adrenaline-pumping rodeo performances.

Action-Packed Rodeo Events

At the heart of the celebration is the PRCA Rodeo, featuring a range of exciting events such as barrel racing, breakaway roping, and steer roping. Stratobowl Historic Hot Air Balloon Launch

View a hot air balloon launch from the Stratobowl, located near Rapid City.
Spectators can view the launch from the Stratobowl Rim Trail. It's a short trail walk, up to 1 mile, for the best viewing.

Viewing is not allowed from the launch field, as it is PRIVATE PROPERTY.
Unfortunately, the launch is not a guarantee because it is weather dependent. Pilots will determine if the conditions are safe prior to launch.
Sometimes we cancel last minute, but we do our best to communicate in real time. Please check for updates on the main page throughout the course of the weekend.

Facitilities, such as bathrooms, coffee, etc, are not available. This is an invitation to view a hot air balloon launch, not an organized event. Please plan accordingly by bringing water, chairs, cameras, etc, and please be safe when parking and walking to the viewing area.
